The Kentucky State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on KY 2006 outside of Cumberland on Monday night.

KSP Sgt. Jeremy Lee said passersby found Martin Keith, 39, of Cumberland, lying in the creek near his custom motorcycle.

“It is believed Mr. Keith had wrecked his motorcycle at least an hour before he was discovered,” Lee said.

Keith was airlifted from Southeast Community and Technical College by Air Evac to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.

Lee said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the wreck.

The wreck is under investigation by Trooper Danny Caudill. He was assisted at the scene by Lee, Cumberland Police Department and the Cumberland Fire Department.
