A Cumberland man remains hospitalized after a standoff with police resulted in gunshots on Oct. 8.
Jason Edmond, 42, of Cumberland, was airlifted to a trauma center after being shot during the standoff.
According to Holston Valley Medical Center Public Affairs representative Jim Wozniak, Edmond is still at the facility and is listed in fair condition.
Kentucky State Police Det. Mike Cornett said Thursday there is no new information being released at this time.
According to a previous report, Post 10 troopers responded to assist the Cumberland City Police Department to a shots fired complaint on Old College Road.
KSP Public Affairs Officer Shane Jacobs said upon troopers’ arrival, Edmond fired several shots into neighboring homes and then barricaded himself inside of his residence.
The incident occurred near the former Cumberland High School and not far from Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College.
No troopers or officers were injured during the incident.
