Operation Christmas Child collection sites announced

The Lynch Church of God and Verda First Baptist Church will serve as Operation Christmas Child collection centers for the popular “shoebox project” during National Collection Week, Nov. 18-25.


Drop-off shoebox donations at Lynch Church of God, located at 547 East Main Street in Lynch, during the following hours: Today, 4-8 p.m.; Thursday, 4-8 p.m.; Friday, 2-8 p.m.; Saturday, 2-8 p.m.; Sunday, 1-5 p.m.; and Nov. 25, noon to 12:30 p.m.

Drop-off shoebox donations at Verda First Baptist Church, located at 326 Hwy. 1601 in Verda, during the following hours: Today, 4-7 p.m.; Thursday, 4-7 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to noon and 4-8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 3-5 p.m.; and Monday, 10 a.m. to noon.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse in which groups and individuals fill shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items and school supplies for needy children around the world.


Last year Harlan Countians packed over 1,000 boxes.
