Woman injured in crash on U.S. 119

Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Officer Jason Freeman is investigating a single-vehicle wreck that occurred on U.S. 119 near the Harlan/Bell line on Wednesday.

Freeman said when he arrived on the scene he learned that Leslie Napier, 29, of Mary Alice, was traveling south on U.S. 119 in a 1996 Ford Econoline van that had left the roadway and she overcorrected. He said the van flipped three or four times before coming to rest over an embankment.

Napier was airlifted to Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport,Tenn., for treatment.

Freeman was assisted at the scene by Harlan County Rescue Squad member Henry Shackleford and LifeCare Ambulance Service.
