Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Knox
BIMBLE — Kentucky State Police Trooper Brent Sizemore made a traffic stop Tuesday night on a 2003 Maroon Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling south on U.S.25E in the Bimble community of Knox County. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement
KSP Public Affairs Officer Shane Jacobs said Officer Landry Collett assisted with the traffic stop and located a hidden container underneath the vehicle. The hidden container contained 975 oxycodone pills and 205 ½ alprazolam (Xanax) tablets. The traffic stop was a result of an ongoing KSP DESI-East investigation.
The operator of the vehicle, Eddie Carroll, 50, of Ingram, was arrested and charged with first- and third-degree trafficking a controlled substance.
The passenger of the vehicle, Beverly Hoskins, 42, of Harrogate, Tenn., was arrested and charged with first- and third-degree trafficking a controlled substance.
Carroll and Hoskins were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
The case is still under investigation by Det. Jim T. Whitaker from the KSP DESI-East Section. Also assisting with the traffic stop were KSP Vehicle Inspections, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and troopers from Post 10 Harlan.
