Keeping with the theme “Coal Keeps the Lights On,” the students crafted several styles of ornaments made of coal. The Student Y Club, a service organization of the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association, promotes critical thinking, leadership, and social responsibility through experiential learning, service, and community activism. Participants in the Christmas service project included Emily Eldridge, Shawnee Cress, Grayson Raleigh, Bronwyn Haynes, Rachel Edwards, Autumn Dunaway, Dacey Bailey, Sophia Sergent, Taylor Johnson, Donovan Ball and Trevor Prewitt. The CES Student Y advisor is teacher Stephanie Dunaway.

The Cumberland Junior High School Beta Club visited the Tri-Cities Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for Christmas. Each Beta Club member brought gifts and wrapped them for each patient. The members enjoyed visiting with the patients and giving Christmas gifts. The sponsors of the Beta Club would like to thank each member and their parents for their generosity.
