This year will mark the 18th year for the Golden family reunion taking place April 25-27.
On Friday, attendees will gather in the breakfast area of Hampton Inn in Williamsburg from 5-9:30 p.m. Plan to arrive on schedule and bring a sack dinner from your choice of restaurants at 6 p.m.
A copy machine will be available to share copies of your history with others until 9:30 p.m. Bring your family history, photos and stories.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and continuing until the last person leaves (rain or shine),plan to spend the day at the actual Stephen Golden first settlement site and his resting place on Golden Creek. Arrive before noon so prayer is not interrupted.
A potluck meal will begin at noon. Be sure and bring a food dish to share and your lawn chair for this outing. Also, bring your voice and musical instrument to play and sing the afternoon away.
A portable toilet and tents for shelter will be available. Anyone who lives nearby and would be willing to bring tables, tents, extra chairs etc. is encouraged to do so.
Bring items to donate to the auction or you can donate cash. Money collected at the auction will go towards taking care of the cemetery and the mailing of the newsletter.
After the outing, all who would like to have dinner together at the Cumberland Inn needs let Carol Golden know so a group reservation can be made.
After breakfast on Sunday, all interested in genealogy studying will gather and chat at the Hampton Inn breakfast area in Williamsburg.
