Superintendent C.D. Morton presented a plaque to Ledford saying, “she does a lot of things on the state level. She is involved with KET and has served on numerous state committees. She has done a tremendous work at the elementary school over the years and was one of our first national board certified teachers. Just to remind everyone, this is not an easy task. It takes a lot of work and dedication to complete this. On behalf of the Harlan Independent Board of Education we would like to congratulate Mrs. Ledford on her re-certification as a national board certified teacher.” A small reception was held in her honor.
