Patriot Coal will now also accept applications for hourly coal prep plant workers at an upcoming job fair in Hazard. This is in addition to seeking experienced underground miners for its Highland Mine in Western Kentucky.

Hiring Our Miners Everyday (H.O.M.E.) and the Kentucky Coal Association (KCA) will host the job fair on Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Kentucky Career Center JobSight, located at 412 Roy Campbell Drive in Hazard.

Patriot officials will be on hand to personally accept applications and interview for underground mining and hourly prep plant positions, and discuss job opportunities available at their Highland Mine and operations in Western Kentucky. The company is seeking only skilled “black hat” miners for the underground mining positions.

All applicants should bring copies of their resume and mine certifications.

More than 350 miners attended previous H.O.M.E. and KCA job fairs for Patriot Coal held in Hazard, Pikeville, and Harlan.
