Operation Preparation is a time set aside to focus on the importance of planning for college and/or career through a community-based volunteer advising program for eighth-graders and sophomores. It is a joint initiative of the Kentucky Department of Education and Department of Workforce in collaboration with various education and business partners. Several businesses participating in the event at Harlan High School included: PT Pros, Harlan physical therapy; Dr. Shelia Ahmad, physician; Dr. Matt Nunez, dentist; Brandi Nunez, dental hygienist; Mike Allison, business; Drew Adams, financial investment; Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College, college advising; Felicia Donahue, nursing; Justin Smith, technology; Shane Jacobs, Kentucky State Police; Danny Crabtree, federal prisons; Raymond Cox, 4-H agent; and Eric Roberts, physician assistant.
