Harlan County Coroner Philip Bianchi was recently recognized as a Master Coroner at the 2014 Kentucky Coroner’s Conference in Louisville.
Master Coroner is the Coroner Association’s highest professional development symbol of recognition for member coroners. Qualifications for this highest honor include increasing levels of education, specialized criminal justice training, advanced forensic experience and a required number of years of membership in the association.
Philip first began serving as a deputy coroner in 1986 and served for eight years under coroners W.R. ‘Red’ Venable and Joe Mahan. He was elected as coroner in 1993 and has been serving the residents of Harlan County for the past 21 years.
