Twenty four members of the Harlan Musettes traveled to Orlando, Fla. during spring break. All together there were 47 on the trip. They went to Disney’s Animal Kingdom the day they arrived and also saw an amazing production of the Broadway musical, “Evita.”

On Monday, they were able to relax and enjoy some sunshine at Cocoa Beach. Ron Jon’s Surf Shop was a fun place to shop and they also had a barbeque lunch on the beach.

Tuesday they spent the entire day at Magic Kingdom, meeting lots of Disney characters, such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Stitch, Cinderella and Snow White. They saw the light parade and fireworks before leaving the park that night.

Wednesday they went to Hollywood Studios and that evening performed at Downtown Disney’s Water Slide Stage. They performed “Songs of a Disney Princess,” “Candle on the Water” from Pete’s Dragon, “Safe and Sound,” “You Raise Me Up” and “Best of the Doo Wop.”

The final day of their trip was a special one, because they performed at the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. The acoustics were awesome, and it proved to be a very rewarding performance, one that the girls will treasure for a lifetime. After performing, the rest of the day was spent at Universal Studios and Island of Adventures before heading home.

They received a trophy in the shape of Mickey Mouse for performing at Disney World. Laurie Hollins, president of Harlan Musettes, Inc., coordinated the trip with Florida And Beyond Group Travel.
