The cooking team from Harlan County High School participated recently in regional competition at Corbin. The students were taught by faculty member Mary McCormick and assisted by Edward Moore, a trained Le Cordon Bleu chef. During the competition, the local team, comprised of students LaKweasha Estes, Sarah Daniels, Annie Brock and Chelsea Bala, had 90 minutes to create their entries of loaded baked potatoes and apple nachos. The group from Corbin High School won the contest and will advance to the state finals to be held in August during the Kentucky State Fair.
