Emergency workers move Juan Riveria from this pickup truck to an awaiting ambulance after a crash on U.S. 119 at Baxter. Riveria was taken to Harlan ARH Hospital late Friday afternoon following the one-vehicle crash just north of Happy Mart at Baxter. The truck was headed south on U.S. 119 when the driver apparently lost control, traveling from the slow lane across the passing lane into the median, then back across both south bound lanes, striking a guardrail, then went airborne and finally came to rest on the Poor Fork River bank. Units from the Kentucky State Police, Harlan City Police, Harlan Fire Department, Harlan County Emergency Management and other agencies responded to the scene. Kentucky State Police Trooper Jared Boggs is the investigating officer. He was assisted by Trooper Jimmy Halcomb.
