A fire in the Totz community early Wednesday morning destroyed the home of Glen Curry located on KY 522.

A Putney Volunteer Fire Department official said his department was paged out at 8:30 a.m. He said the residence, located at 11607 Highway 522, was fully engulfed upon their arrival.

It was reported that the homeowners were not at home during the fire and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

A fire official reported that Curry said he had built the home out of Hemlock and put many hours into making his home a beautiful place to live.

Also responding to the fire was the Cumberland Fire Department and the Kentucky Division of Forestry.

The Division of Forestry responded because the home was located in a heavily wooded area.
