An Evarts man is facing a burglary charge after allegedly taking items including wedding rings and wedding bands from a LeJunior home.
Joey David Lewis, 32, was arrested on Wednesday by Kentucky State Police Trooper Kevin Miller.
According to the citation, Lewis entered the home of Jerri Miracle at 149 Witt Road. Lewis took two wedding rings and two wedding bands from the home.
The citation states Lewis was arrested outside the residence on KY 38 near Witt Road. Lewis had one of the wedding rings in his pocket, with another ring laying on the ground beside his vehicle.
The citation additionally states Lewis made phone calls while he was in the residence.
Lewis was charged with second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking under $500, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, no registration receipt, no registration plates, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, improper registration plate, failure to produce insurance card and resisting arrest.
Lewis was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
