Joe P. Asher|Daily EnterpriseEvarts City Police Sgt. John Teagle and Cpl. William Clogston accepted a $250 donation for their department's Cops 4 Kidz program from the Harlan County Bass Anglers (HBCA) on Friday. HBCA president Johnny Ray presented the check on behalf of the club. “We originally started Cops 4 Kids to do anti-bullying programs,” said Clogston. “Sgt. Teagle came up with the idea of doing a fishing trip.” Clogston said last year they took 63 kids up to Martins Fork Lake. Ray said the HCBA decided to donate as an extension of their annual program of giving away fishing gear to deserving school kids in the area. “We appreciate the donation from the HCBA,” said Teagle. “Hopefully they'll be able to attend our event on June 28 at Martins Fork Lake and they can see what their money went for.” Anybody wanting to take part in the Cops 4 Kidz may contact Clogston or Teagle at the Evarts Police Department.
