A woman is facing a felony theft charge after allegedly taking money from the Kwik Mart in Loyall where she worked.
Shelia Fair, 43, of Wallins, was arrested on Monday by Loyall Police Chief Mike Lunsford.
According to the complaint obtained by Darryl Robinson, Fair allowed purchases to go through at the Kwik Mart in Loyall without ringing them up.
The complaint states Fair committed the offense between March 1 and April 30.
The warrant states Fair pocketed the money from gas purchases, causing the register to be short. Fair is also accused of taking food items from the store on days that she was working at the Kwik Mart and taking money from the register.
The warrant additionally states Fair told another person how she took money from the business on the days she was working at the Kwik Mart.
Fair was charged with theft by unlawful taking and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond.
The case is being investigated by Lunsford.
