The Harlan County High School 21st Century after school program sponsors several academic and enrichment activities for students from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, including a music class led by HCHS teacher Shelley Shepherd, which includes guitar, banjo and piano.
“The music classes have become the most popular component of our after-school program this year,” said HCHS 21st Century Director John Henson. “The program offers several activities for students and includes dinner immediately after school and transportation home afterwards.”
Tutoring and credit-recovery classes are also being offered in April and May, in addition to regular program activities such as art, career readiness, Web design, multimedia and journalism.
