Madison Noe has won a lot of games in four seasons of pitching for the Harlan Lady Dragons, but she’s rarely been as dominating as she was Thursday in a no-hitter.

Noe, a junior righthander, struck out 12 and was only one walk away from a perfect game as Harlan won 6-0 over visiting Barbourville.

Harlan was limited to only four hits, a double by Jesse Cochran and singles by Kaylee McNiel, Alyssa Mills and Kaitlin Jenkins.

The Lady Dragons broke through with two runs in the fourth inning as Mills scored on a passed ball and Cochran came home on a ground out by Jourdan Ledford.

Four more runs in the sixth inning put the game away. Madison Brewer was safe on the game’s only error, then scored on a passed ball. Cochran and Ledford then drew walks, with Cochran scoring on Jenkins’ single and Ledford coming home on another passed ball. Anna Karst brought home Jenkins with a ground out.

A seven-run second inning gave Harlan an early lead Saturday at the Wizard of Oz Tournament at Letcher Central, and the Lady Dragons held off a Shelby Valley rally to win 8-6 and salvage one of three games in the tourney.

Kaylee McNiel and Jourdan Ledford each had three singles to lead the 6-9 Lady Dragons. Anna Karst contributed a double and single. Jesse Cochran added a double. Madison Noe, Madison Brewer, Kaitlin Jenkins and Alyssa Mills added singles.

Noe earned the win on the mound as she scattered 11 hits while striking out two and walking one.
