With Eric Cantor loosing the Republican primary this week, all the pundits have been guessing at what is going on. Are the Republicans too far divided? Is the nation as a whole moving to the right? Is this good or bad news for the Democrats? All these questions and hundreds more are being asked and answered by all the experts. I can give you an answer to all the questions with three simple words, “I don’t know.”

Many Christians are conservatives and many conservatives are Christians. Conservatives are concerned with the direction the nation is moving. Social policies are more liberal, the debt spiral continues out of control, the dumbing down of the educational system, the growing entitlement and government reliance attitude of many Americans, the list of things that make many in America believe that the greatness that is known as “American” will soon be a thing of the past is growing by the day.

As I said, I don’t know if the Republicans are too divided or if the Cantor defeat is good or bad news for the Democrats but there are some things I do know. I do know what the Bible says about the future.

The problem most of us have with Bible prophecy is that it is not specific enough for us. It gives no dates, it names no names. We want to know who, what, when and where; at best the Bible gives us what and where and sometimes it only tells us the what, omitting the where.

What about America’s political climate today? Can the Bible give us any answers? Directly no, but with what we do know, we can make an educated guess.

We do know that in the future, the Antichrist will establish a one world economic system that gives him complete control over who buys and who sells (Revelation 13:16-17).

We also know that the Western Powers attempt to negotiate with Russia, Iran, Turkey and the rest of those allied against Israel, but do nothing to stop the invasion that is to come (Ezekiel 38:13).

We know that many people will look to the Antichrist as a god and will worship him (2 Thess. 2:3-4).

These are only three of the things we know will happen in the future. But you may be wondering, “What in the world do these things have to do with the political climate in America today?”

Good question.

We must look not only at what the Bible says will happen, but we also need to make an educated guess at what will get us there.

Taking these three examples into consideration, how do we get there?

If there is going to be a one world economic system controlled by the Antichrist, what must happen? An educated guess tells us there will be economic troubles like the world has never seen. Whether there is a one world currency is really irrelevant, what does matter is that the world gives control of all financial transactions over to the government of the Antichrist. It is difficult to believe this could ever happen with a thriving American economy and a strong dollar. It appears that a worldwide economic collapse, including the dollar, is coming.

With example number two, Israel is invaded with no help, other than negotiations, from the West. It appears that the words of the United States and her allies are nothing more the blowing wind to Israel’s future invaders. Could it be that the military might of the U.S. will no longer be a threat? It is unknown if this is because of a weakened military or political unwillingness.

Example number three, the Antichrist being worshiped by people all over the globe, all that needs to be said, is that a Christian nation would never do this. America’s Christianity is either nonexistent or worthless by the time that prophecy if fulfilled.

What does all this mean? America cannot be the economic, military and spiritual power it once was, or that was envisioned by the founding fathers, when the Antichrist comes to world prominence.

What do Eric Cantor and David Brat have to do with all this? I still don’t know, but I do know what the Bible says will happen and what the world situation must be in order for it to happen. The fundamental transformation of America and the rise of the Antichrist, whoever he may be, has already started.
