Tri-State Bass will host an open bass tournament sponsored by Dave’s Outdoors LLC of Corbin to help raise money for Christmas turkey’s to give out to laid off coal miners.


The tournament will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. on May 23 at 33 Bridge, Norris Lake.


The cost is $60 per boat, big fish optional. First place is guaranteed $600. Second and third place will be based on boats in the field. Tri-State Bass will take $10 per boat for the event. Imperial Baits in Middlesboro is accepting early registration May 1.

The 2014 Coca Cola Classic of Middlesboro Fish Off projected payout is: First, $2,400; second, $1,900; third, $1,400; fourth, $1,200; fifth, $1,000; sixth, $850; seventh, $750; eighth, $650; ninth, $550; 10th, $450; 11th, $350; and 12th, $250.


The yearly membership fee is $35 per person. The entry fee per two man boater is $70; entry fee per one man boater is $40.


To fish the Imperial Baits Tournament Trail hosted by Tri-State Bass, someone in the club must recommend you. Or you can fish with a member and be voted in, then fish from your own boat.
