Two Harlan County High School students, Sierra Hatfield and Logan Burris, have been named Kentucky Youth Storytelling torchbearers.
Hatfield and Burris were winners in the 2013 Swappin’ Meetin’ competition. They were then mentored by Noah Hughes, a three-time winner of the same award and two-time national winner.
They were also invited to perform at the Kentucky State Fair in August and are in the running for the National Youth Storytelling Showcase. Out of 22 entries, only four individuals and one pair were chosen — two from Harlan County.
