• James A. Cawood High School classes of the 80s REUNION BASH (for students, faculty, staff involved in JACHS during the 1980s) will begin at 2 p.m. on July 26 at Camp Blanton. Dinner will be served beginning at 5 p.m. No cover charge — this is a free event. There will be fun, food, music and friends.


• The Miniard FAMILY REUNION will begin at 11 a.m. on July 26 at Pine Mountain Settlement School in the Laurel House. A potluck dinner will begin at noon. Everyone is asked to bring a meat, vegetable or dessert. Lawanna Blevins will be the guest singer. For more information, contact Mildred Howard at 273-4429.


• ALUMNI HOMECOMING at Pine Mountain Settlement School will be held Aug. 8 and 9. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. on Aug. 9 in the Laurel House. Lunch is at noon and supper is at 5 p.m. The REUNION for local community and classmates who attended school from 1949-1972 will be Aug. 9. Registration is from 2-3 p.m. A schedule of events will be available upon registration. Supper will begin at 5 p.m. The cost for adults is $10; $5.50 for children under 12. You must register by July 21 is you plan to eat. • All friends and relatives are invited to attend the 40th annual Dean & Creech FAMILY REUNION from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 at the Carl Perkins Community Center in Morehead. Each person is asked to bring at least two of the following — dessert, salad, meat or vegetable. There will be a display area for those bringing items to share and a photographer will be available to take group photos.
