Two Leslie County Detention Center (LCDC) inmates escaped while on work release Tuesday morning, officials said.

Adam Warner, who was being held for burglary, and Taylor Brewer, jailed for a probation violation, disappeared from a work detail on Greasy Creek.

LCDC Capt. Liz Morgan said the inmates walked away at approximately 11:30 a.m.

“They were out on work release with a couple of our deputies and they just decided that they didn’t want to come back, so they left,” said Morgan.

Morgan said the escapees were not considered dangerous. Morgan said the inmates would not have been on work release assignment if they had been considered to be dangerous.

Morgan said Kentucky State Police has been called to assist in locating the escapees.

Police are still searching for the pair.
