The annual Pineville Autumn Festival will be held this Saturday.
Thousands turn out for the event.
“We are in hopes that this year will be larger than previous years,” said Pinevill Mayor Tim Ellison.
Vendors should be set up and vehicles removed from Main Street by 4 p.m., Ellison indicated. Tailgating and the chili cookoff will begin at 5 p.m.
George Dorne and the Tennessee Whiskey Band will perform from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Carter Slade will be on stage from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Pineville Fire Department will be sponsoring jump houses for children.
There will be costume contests for both adults and children. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Chili cookoff winners will be recognized in individual and business categories. The spiciest and people’s choice winner will also be named.
There will be a pumpkin carving/decorating contest.
A new category this year is the scare crow contest. Scare crows should be at least three feet tall and no taller than five feet.
The best decrorated booth will also be honored.
