A Cawood man was arrested after allegedly being caught with property belonging to CSX Transportation.
James N. Stevens, 46, was served an arrest warrant by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Britt Lipfird on Wednesday after CSX Officer William Brock obtained the warrant.
According to the warrant, Stevens had in his possession and sold 4,500 feet of copper cable belonging to CSX to Baxter Metal Company.
Stevens was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 and theft by deception including cold checks under $500.
Stevens was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $7,000 full cash bond.
In other police news, Joshua Gross, 28, of Cumberland, was arrested by Cumberland Police Officer Cody Williamson for a probation violation.
Gross was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
