The Harlan County Ridge Runners (HCRR) will begin the new year with their annual New Year’s Day ATV Ride to be held on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the north Evarts RV Campground.
“This will be a guided ride,” said HCRR President Bill Troutman. “You might want to put on extra clothes and bring some snacks, because it’ll be an all day ride barring nothing happening.”
Troutman said the ride will be approximately 60-70 miles long.
“We’ve hosted this ride for the past nine to 10 years,” said Troutman. “A lot of people like to bring in the new year with an ATV ride. The old saying is whatever you are doing the first of the year you’ll be doing the rest of the year supposedly.”
Troutman said “most people hope for snow during the event.”
“It’s a lot of fun to ride in the snow,” said Troutman. “During the ride at this time of the year you might see deer and some wild fowl. We hope to see a crowd for this event. Just be there at 9:30 a.m. sharp Saturday and be ready to ride.”
