‘Super Saturday Tax Day’ planned
Special to Civitas Media
KCEOC will host “Super Saturday Tax Day” Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the KCEOC’s central office located in Gray.
KCEOC VITA volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the program, the EITC and to complete and file taxes to clients.
KCEOC Community Action Partnership is excited to announce free tax preparation through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program for taxpayers who qualify. The VITA Program generally offers free tax help to people who make $52,427 or less and need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.
KCEOC sponsors IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals in local communities.
These community volunteers will file taxes free of charge to qualifying taxpayers and review all of the details of Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The staff also can determine if clients have eligible for the EITC during the past three years and help file amended tax returns for any years in which the opportunity to claim EITC benefits were missed. The volunteers can also determine help with special credits, such as Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled. We will also offer free electronic filing (e-file) for faster returns.
All services are provided with the strictest confidentiality and accuracy of information. The VITA program is available free to the public and will remain open through April 11th, 2013. Services are by appointment only.
