Eastern Kentuckians looking for a new job or career will have the chance to apply with nearly 20 employers from a variety of industries this month during the Mega Job Fair in Hazard.
The Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc. (EKCEP) will host the event starting at 10 a.m., Aug. 26, at the Kentucky Career Center JobSight, 412 Roy Campbell Drive, Hazard.
Applicants can expect to meet face-to-face with employers in health care, coal mining, trucking, food service, and telework, among other industries. Many jobs will not require relocation and will be available for immediate hire.

Company officials will be ready to answer questions and accept applications, so jobseekers should be bring an up-to-date résumé and valid driver’s license.
While the Mega Job Fair is open to anyone seeking work, EKCEP representatives with Hiring Our Miners Everyday (H.O.M.E.) will also be present for attendees seeking information about the retraining and re-employment initiative for out-of-work coal miners and their spouses.
Funded through $11.3 million in National Emergency Grant (NEG) funding, H.O.M.E. helps miners and their spouses affected by the coal industry downturn discover their skills, determine new career options, covers costs for them to enter classroom training, and helps place them into subsidized on-the-job training positions with area employers.
