Harlan County earned its seventh win in eight outings Monday, with a straight set victory at Knox Central. The Lady Bears won 25-14, 25-20, 25-9 in an impressive performance.
Katelyn Reynolds powered Harlan County in the first set with five tips, four kills, a spike and seven points. Chyanna Harris contributed three digs. Whitney Stevens delivered one tip, two kills, an ace and five points. Lauren Lee tallied three tips, an ace and four points. Charleigh Mefford had one tip, one dig and a point, while Brittany Clem added three tips, one dig, an ace and a point.
Harris led the way with two tips, a block, one dig, one kill, one spike, six aces and nine points in the second set. Stevens had two kills and two points. Lee recorded three tips and two points. Mefford contributed two digs, one spike and a point. Reynolds delivered three kills and three points. Clem added two tips, one block, an ace and two points.
Reynolds paced the Lady Bears with three tips, seven kills, and six points in the final set. Harris had one dig. Stevens delivered two kills, two aces and four points. Lee contributed four tips, one ace and four points. Mefford had two tips, and Clem added three tips, a dig, one kill and three points.
Harlan County fell 17-21, 19-21 in the junior varsity contest.
Sasha Simpson combined for seven tips, and eight points in the two games to lead Harlan County. Sabrina Simpson had five tips, an ace and three points. Keristian Hall recorded one spike, one ace and two points. Tarolyn Burkhart delivered one tip, five aces and five points. Celina Hatmaker contributed one kill, an ace and two points. Candace Huff had one kill, a spike and one point, while Shelby Cowan added an ace and a point.
The Lady Bears claimed a 23-25, 21-15, 21-15 win in freshman action.
Elyse Turner paced Harlan County with four tips, three digs, five aces and 12 points in the three games.
Harlan County (11-6) returns to action Thursday at home against Harlan.
