Rosspoint and James A. Cawood took different paths to a championship game matchup Tuesday in the seventh- and eighth-grade county tournament.

The WIldcats coasted there, racing to a 25-4 halftime lead over Black Mountain on the way to a 38-11 win in the opening semifinal Monday.

Lamar Burkhart scored 12 points and Austin Adams added 11 to lead the Wildcats.

Jake Bush led Black Mountain with six points.

James A. Cawood had to battle from start to finish, including an overtime, to edge Cumberland 46-44 in the nightcap.

Paul Stapleton scored 18 and Zach Scearse tossed in 14 for the Trojans.

Andrew Creech and Tyrese Simmons scored 16 and 13 points, respectively, for the Redskins.

James A. Cawood will play Rosspoint at 7 in the championship game at James A. Cawood. Cumberland will take on Black Mountain at 5:30 in the consolation game.
