A seventh inning comeback fell short as Harlan lost 4-2 at Jenkins on Friday to close the regular season.

The Lady Dragons trailed 4-0 going into the last inning when Alyssa Mills led off with a single and scored on Jourdan Ledford’s one-out double. After Katie King walked, Taylor Cochran followed with an RBI single. Anna Karst walked to load the bases, but Madison Noe hit into a fielder’s choice and Cochran was caught off base to end the threat.

Cochran had two hits to lead the 11-12 Lady Dragons. Ledford, Mills and Noe added one hit each.

Brewer suffered the loss on the mound against one of the 14th Region’s best teams, giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits with one strikeout and two walks.

Harlan will play Middlesboro on Monday in the 52nd District Tournament at Harlan.
