The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team improved to 2-0 during a preseason exhibition trip to the Bahamas with an 81-58 victory Monday over Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket.
UK fell behind by eight points in the first half but used a 12-0 run to take control.
Three UK players finished in double figures, and 11 players scored. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Alex Poythress had 16 points and eight rebounds, while Dakari Johnson added 10 points.
The Wildcats shot 51.8 percent from the field and outrebounded Chalons-Reims 43-21.
UK dished out 17 assists and has combined for 37 assists in its two Bahama contests. Seven Wildcats had at least one assist in Monday’s game.
Kentucky was scheduled to return to action at noon CDT against the Puerto Rico National Team reserves.

LEXINGTON — The annual Kentucky-Louisville rivalry has been scheduled for a 2 p.m. ET tip on Dec. 27 in Louisville’s Yum! Center and will air on ESPN2.
This year’s event is being hailed as the Basketball Hall of Fame Shootout with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the non-profit Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
UK leads the all-time series against Louisville 32-15, including a pair of wins in the 2013-14 season. The Wildcats defeated the Cardinals 73-66 in Rupp Arena during the regular season and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament following a 74-69 win over UofL in Indianapolis.
Kentucky has won six of its last seven meetings with Louisville.
