Andy Thomas, age 71, of Harlan, KY passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 27, 1941 in Harlan, KY. Andy was a retired maintenance worker for the city of Harlan. He was also a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Cas” Thomas and Etta Marie Hamby Thomas; his first wife, Becky Thomas; two brothers, Paul and Billy Ray Thomas; and one sister, Gladys Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Thomas of Harlan, KY; three children, Jack “Willis” Thomas and wife Kay of Harlan, KY; Chester Thomas and wife Zena of Harlan, KY; and Flora “Jeannie” Seals of Putney, KY; 7 Grandchildren ; 18 Great grandchildren; one brother, Walter Thomas of Harlan, KY; three sisters, Christine Burkhart of Baxter, KY, Nadine Maggard of Putney, KY, and Irene Saylor of Brookside, KY; special friend, Tony Smith of Putney, KY; and several other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Harlan-Gas Cemetery with the Rev. Arnold Martin officiating. Pallbearers are Chester Thomas, Willis Thomas, Travis Seals, Ross Thomas, Cameron Thomas, Walter Thomas and Joe Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
