She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Susanna Day Sumpter; her husband, Charlie Sturgill; son, Michael Sturgill; daughter, Doris Rasnick; five brothers: Jim Sumpter, William Sumpter, Henry Sumpter, Lawrence Sumpter and Ernest Sumpter; and four sisters: Rosa Miles, Nannie Shepherd, Dora Frazier and Maggie Jenkins.
She is survived by two daughters: Betty Stagnolia and husband, Eugene, Cumberland; and Davetta Louise Dobb and husband, David, Cookeville, Tenn.; a son-in-law, Sam Rasnick, Morgan, Texas; one sister, Lina Boggs, Cumberland; a sister-in-law, Belvia Taylor, Cumberland; 10 grandchildren: Rick Rasnick, Fort Worth, Texas; Angela Burson, Springboro, Ohio; Todd Rasnick, Cleburne, Texas; Kimberly Morgan, Kennasaw, Ga.; Kelli Early, Cumberland; Ken Morris, Algood, Tenn.; Jennifer Martin, Rockmart, Ga.; Kristi Whitehead, Cumberland; Charlie D. Sturgill, Tazewell, Tenn.; and Glenda Sue Sturgill, Tazewell, Tenn; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Tri-City Funeral Home in Benham and on Friday from noon until 2 p.m. at Blair Chapel Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Blair Chapel Church in Blair with the Rev. Rod Raleigh and Brother Bill Maggard officiating.
Interment will follow in Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
