Carrie Halcomb Hall, 89, of Cumberland passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Harlan ARH following a brief illness.

Carrie was a native of Virginia and had lived in Cumberland most of her life. She was employed by Hazen’s 5 & 10 Store for 17 years. She was a homemaker and loving mother. She believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buick Hall; and her parents, John Riley and Bessie Allen Halcomb.

Survivors include two children, Geraldine Tippett and husband, Don, Cumberland; Denny Hall and wife, Karen, Cumberland; three sisters, Stella Williams, Cumberland; Mable Piper, Clinton; and Marie Rogers, Waterford, MI; six grandchildren, Ernest Moore and wife, Vicky, Evarts; Tonya Daugherty and husband, David, Lancaster; Ricky Moore and wife, Stacey, Putney; Amanda Rutherford and husband, Jeff, Benham; Megan Saylor and husband, Derrick, Lynch; and Gavin Hall, Lynch; nine great-grandchildren, Ernest, Katlyn, Khalei, Austin, Marissa, Hannah, Hezekiah, Christan, and Mariah; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held 6-8pm Monday, December 8, 2008 at Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the church with Rev. Dennis Williams and Rev. Glen Daugherty officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
