The Harlan County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous call on their drug tip line that led to the confiscation of several marijuana plants on Sunday.

Deputy Mitch Alford responded to the tip. He said the office received a complaint of a skunk-type odor and a large amount of foot traffic in the mountains around the Cranks Creek area.

Alford, along with deputies Danny Lewis and Matt Cope conducted a search at the mountain location and discovered several marijuana plants. No arrests have been made at this time.

Chaplain Chris Hickey also assisted the deputies.

Alford asks that the public call the drug tip line at 574-9800 if any drug activity is suspected in your area.
