The Harlan Green Dragons split a pair of games at Bell County on Wednesday.
The Dragons downed Bell County 9-3 in the first contest.
Harlan broke a scoreless tie with two runs each in the third and four innings, before putting the game away with five runs in the seventh inning.
Jacob Rich tripled to lead Harlan at the plate. Tyler Grubbs and Colby Wilson each contributed a pair of singles. Ben Abraham, Dylan McNiel and Austin Miller each added a single.
Grubbs recorded five strikeouts and allowed four hits in five innings on the mound. Dylan McNiel recorded one strikeout and one hit in two innings of relief.
Harlan fell 13-3 in three innings in the second contest.
The Dragons gave up six runs in the first inning in the nightcap and were never able to recover. Bell County tacked on four runs in the second quarter and three in the third as it continued to pull away.
Miller went 1/3 inning in the loss. Tye Patrick recorded three strikeouts in 2.2 innings.
Rich and Grubbs each singled for the Dragons’ only hits.
Harlan (13-20) will host Leslie County today, while Bell County (7-24) will travel to Perry Central.
