The Harlan Lady Dragons again pushed Middlesboro to the brink Tuesday before miscues got the best of them.

A pair of eighth-inning Harlan errors allowed the Lady Jackets to score the go-ahead runs in the top of the eighth, and Middlesboro held on to defeat the host Lady Dragons 4-2 in the quarterfinals of the 13th Region All "A" Classic.

Junior Courtney Bell (1-1), filling in for the injured Emily Caudill, limited the Lady Jackets to just four hits while striking out five and walking five. But Harlan (7-3) committed six errors in the game.

Brooklyn Jimison (9-3) was her typically dominant self for the Lady Jackets, striking out 11 in a four-hitter.

The junior also led the Lady Jackets at the plate with a pair of singles. Kristen Davis and Randi Jo Powers each singled once.

The Lady Dragons were led by Kerri McCarthy with two singles. Megan Ball tripled, and Alex Yount added a double.

Middlesboro (9-4) will travel to Cumberland for regional All "A" Classic semifinal action Thursday, while Harlan will visit Cawood for a district contest.

Thursday's other All "A" semifinal will pit Lynn Camp against visiting Williamsburg. The Lady Cats defeated Red Bird 7-0 on Tuesday, while Williamsburg downed Barbourville 10-7.

The championship game will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at Cumberland or Middlesboro.
