She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Woods and Myrtle Brewer Woods; husband, Otha Helton; one son, Bobby Lee Slusher; one grandson, whom she raised, James Michael Helton; and one great-grandson, Eric Helton; two brothers, Virgil Woods and Clyde Woods; two sisters, Maxine McGaffey and Mary Lattiff.
She is survived by 8 children, James Helton and wife, Jane, Evarts; Kathy Jones and husband, Tim, Harlan; William “Bill” Helton and wife, Brenda; Bell County; David “Zeke“ Helton and Lisa, Verda; Mary Sue Black and husband, Tommy, Keokee, VA; Ellen Worthington and husband, Roy, Ages; Darlene Hartford and husband, David, Lynch; and Charles “Bird“ Helton and Lois, Verda; two brothers, Raymond Woods, Four Mile; and Carl Woods, Londonderry, OH; and 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM in the chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday December 6, 2012 at 2:00 at the Ages Baptist Church with Brother James Burkhart officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Evarts Memorial Gardens immediately following the service with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
