Evan “Moose” Pettypiece, 20, of Benham, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012. Evan was born November 30, 1991 in Benham and had lived here all of his life. A graduate of the Victory Road Christian Academy, he served in Iraq as a member of the U.S. Army – National Guard Infantry.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Shepherd Pettypiece, Harlan; his parents, Robert William Pettypiece and Shirley Halcomb Pettypiece, Benham; a brother, Justin Paul Pettypiece and wife, Christy, Wallins Creek; a nephew, Grayson Pettypiece, Wallins; and his grandmothers, Lillie Mae Halcomb, Dalton, GA, and Sally Bennett, Reed Springs, MO.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Sunday at the Tri City Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Monday in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home with the Reverend Michael Blair officiating.

Burial will follow in the D.L. Creech Cemetery at Cumberland with military rites by the Harlan Honor Guard, who will also serve as pallbearers.
