Gladys Mayre Hyde Turner 89, of Bledsoe, Ky. Departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born January 11, 1919 in Brookside, Ky. To the late Lloyd & Mary House Hyde. Mrs. Turner was a graduate of Hall High School and had lived in the family farm house in Bledsoe, Ky. For the past fifty years. She was a former election officer at Pine Mountain, Ky. & a nurse assistant. Gladys enjoyed life especially being a loving granny & homemaker, she also loved to garden and quilting. She was a avid bird watcher a member of the Bledsoe Baptist Church and was the Matriarch of the Turner Family.

She is preceded in death besides her parents by her husband; Alonzo Edward Turner Sr. Two daughters; Sandra Sue Turner & Mary Alice Turner. Two great grandchildren; Kaitlyn & Jacob Turner. Brother; Randy Hyde. Sisters; Jackie Shipley & Dutch Philpot. In-Laws;John L. & Alice Turner. Sister-In-Law; Cleo Hoskins

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Mountain Chapel of the Pine Mountain Settlement School with the Rev. Titus Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Alonzo E. Turner Sr. Cemetery of Bledsoe, Ky. Pallbearers will be Steve Turner, Jeff Turner, Brian Turner, Johnnie Turner Jr., Tim Turner, Johnnie Turner, Robert Turner, Scott Johnson, Victor Pollitte, Jim Turner, Paul Turner & Jacob Turner.

Family will receive friends Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
