The Harlan Lady Dragons exploded for four runs in both the sixth and seventh innings Friday to pull away for an 11-5 victory at Barbourville.

Madison Noe opened the scoring in the first inning to give Harlan a one-run advantage, but the Lady Tigers took the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.

Harlan regained the lead in the third inning as Noe and Anna Karst both crossed the plate. Barbourbille pulled even in the bottom half with a run.

The score remained tied at three heading into the sixth inning when the Harlan offense came alive. Karst, Heather Holland, Alyssa Mills and Desiree Bowman each scored in the inning to put the Lady Dragons up 7-3.

After a pair of Barbourville runs in the bottom of the sixth, Harlan took control with four more in the seventh inning. Noe, Holland, Bowman and Kristina Fields each scored in the seventh as the Lady Dragons pulled away.

Eighth-grader Madison Brewer recorded four strikeouts in a complete-game victory on the mound for the Lady Dragons.

Noe recorded one triple, a double and one single to lead Harlan at the plate. Jourdan Ledford had two doubles and a single. Karst contributed one double and three singles. Fields and Mills each had a double and a single. Crystal Goins contributed two singles, and Brewer and Holland each added a single.

Harlan (6-4) returns to action Monday in 52nd District action at Middlesboro, while Barbourville (3-7) will travel to Knox Central.
