Harold G. “Hoss” Saylor, 68, Independence, formerly of Coldiron, died May 1 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.

A native of Jesse's Creek, he was retired from American Standard in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Saylor; his mother, China Hensley Saylor; his maternal grandparents, Noble Hensley and Jane Hensley Elliott; his paternal grandparents, William Saylor and Polly Muncy Saylor; and a brother, Radford Saylor.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Alice B. Saylor; one son, Harold Wayne Saylor and wife, Robin, Independence; two grandchildren: Austin and Abby Saylor, Independence; three brothers: Carr B. Saylor and wife, Helen, Coldiron; Johnnie Lee Saylor and wife, Lillie, Coldiron; and Earl Saylor, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters: Verlin Zugay, Wallins; and Kaye Nolan and husband, Murphy, Coldiron; along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is Friday after 4 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church of God in Coldiron.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Everett Eads and the Rev. Wade Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
