Jack Middleton, 81, formerly of Monroe, Ind., died March 22, 2005.

A native of Baxter, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct and Victory medals. He was employed by Consolidated Paper-Southside in Monroe, Ind., for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Green Middleton and Stella Sergent; four infant children, five brothers: Otis, Glenn, Marvin, Marcus and Willis Middleton; one sister, Flossie Clem; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Donald Middleton and wife, Gail, Monroe; two daughters: JoAnn Rimel and husband, Earl, McBain, Mich.; and Dorothea Middleton, Monroe, Mich.; one brother, Foyle Middleton and wife, Ella, Baxter; and sister, Elsie Vanover and husband, Tom, Baxter.

Family and friends will be received Friday at noon at Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, Ind.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cremation has taken place.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Lawalle, Mich.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.

Rupp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
