James Donald Hensley, 68, Lawnvale, passed from this life Wednesday, April 9, 2008 following an illness. Don was born April 16, 1939 at Grays Knob and had lived most of his life in Harlan County. He was a self-employed electrician and carpenter and attended the Church of Christ. Don enjoyed reading his Bible, which he did often.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamp Hensley and Mildred Sargent Hensley; two brothers, Ronnie Hensley and Golden Hensley; and a great grandson, Jonathan Phillip Daniels.

Survivors include five children: Tammy Roark and husband Anthony, Wallins; Tim Hensley and wife Kelli, Lawnvale; Mike Hensley and wife Tonya, Baxter; Missy Hensley, Loyall; and Donnie Hensley and wife Deborah, Dayhoit; three sisters, Pat Choate, Dubois, IN; Juanita Estridge, Richmond, IN; and Geneva Hensley Aranguiz, Miami Beach, FL; a close friend, Raymond Arnett of Harlan; nine grandchildren: Mark Johnson; Brittany Jones; Tiffany Daniels and husband Jonathan; Kenton Hensley; Mikey Hensley; Sierra Hensley; Tara Arvin and husband John; Braydon Hensley; and Donnie Hensley II; a great-grandchild, Heaven Hensley; and was soon expecting the arrival of a third great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 ñ 8 pm Friday evening at Harlan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Forester officiating. Burial to follow at the Grays Knob Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Harlan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
