James Tyree, age 67 of Cumberland departed this life on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Harlan ARH Hospital. He was born at Lynch and a lifelong native of Kentucky. He was a member of the Tri City Pentecostal Church. James worked in general labor before becoming disabled in 1980.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mary Elizabeth Smith Tyree; brothers, Robert Tyree, Gentry Combs and Steve Tyree; and sisters, Hattie Ison, Juanita Haney and Nancy Widner.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Miles Tyree; children, Lisa Mills and Ray of Middlesboro; John Tyree and Lolita of Hampton, VA, Charles Davidson and Carolyn of New Tazewell, TN, and Teresa Wigington and Paul of Cumberland; six grandchildren, Joseph Mills, Priscilla West, Tessa Davidson, Sarah Davidson, Dillon Davidson, Isaac Wigington and Chasity Wigington; five great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and church family who will miss him.

The family will receive friends at the Tri City Pentecostal Church on Thursday, April 19, 2012, and Friday, April 20, 2012, between 6 -9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 11:00 am with the Reverend Billy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Miles Family Cemetery in Blair.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
