Harlan County snapped a two game losing skid with a 25-21, 20-25, 25-23 victory at Leslie County in volleyball action on Tuesday.
Whitney Stevens had three aces and four service points in the first game to pace the Lady Bears. Keisha Mimes recorded three tips and three points. Cara Middleton contributed three service points and an ace. Breanna Dunson tallies two points and a tip. Chyanna Harris had two service points, and Rebecca Eldridge added a point.
Middleton’s four points, two tips and one ace led Harlan County in a second set loss. Dunson had three points, one tip and one block. Stevens contributed two aces, one tip and one kill, while Harris added two points and an ace.
Middleton again led the Lady Bears with three tips, two aces and two service points in the decisive third set. Brittany Clem had four points and two aces. Stevens contributed three points, one spike and one kill. Mimes recorded two points, one ace and one tip, and Harris added one tip and one point.
The Lady Bears fell 14-21, 16-21 in the junior varsity contest.
Katelyn Reynolds combined for four points, one kill and an ace in the two sets. Sasha Simpson had five points and two aces. Clem recorded two kills and four points. Lauren Lee contributed two tips for points. Candice Huff had one spike and two points, and Charleigh Mefford added a point.
Harlan County dropped the freshman contest 16-18, 13-17.
Celina Hatmaker combined for seven points and three aces to pace the Lady Bears in the two sets.
Harlan County (9-7) returns to action today at Harlan in a 52nd District contest.
