An Enterprise Staff Report
The Harlan Lady Dragons traveled to Lee, Va. Monday for the second meeting with the Lady Generals in just five days. Unfortunately for the Lady Dragons, the outcome stayed the same.
Lee once again took control early, this time with an eight-run outburst in the second inning, to pull away for an 11-1 victory over Harlan.
The Lady Generals struck first with a run in the first inning before Harlan tied the game with one in the top of the second.
Heather Holland started the offense for the Green Dragons. Holland singled, reached second on a passed ball and advance to third on a fielder’s choice. She then scored on an error.
Lee took control with eight runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Lady Generals later tacked on one run in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Madison Brewer and Kristina Fields each had a double to pace Harlan at the plate. Heather Holland added a single.
Freshman Madison Noe recorded two strikeouts and allowed nine hits in a complete-game effort in the loss.
Harlan (7-10) returns to action today at Harlan County in a 52nd District matchup.
